Marlinas

Marlinas UAB is a Lithuanian fishing company in Klaipėda, specialising in shrimp. Alda owns 25% of the shares in the company.

Lokys Vessel Operated By Marlinas

Marlinas operates two trawlers from Klaipėda; Lokys, built in 2001, and the Taurus, which was built in 1985. Both vessels are specially equipped for shrimp fishing but can also catch and produce headed and gutted fish. The trawlers mainly catch shrimp (Pandalus borealis), but also cod, Greenland halibut, and American plaice.

The shrimp products produced by Marlinas are sold globally. Part of the shrimp is sold for further production in Iceland and Norway, but large volumes are fully processed onboard the vessels. Important markets for the shrimp products are Scandinavia, China, and Japan.

All catches by Lokys and Taurus hold an MSC certification, and Marlinas UAB is, therefore, authorised to sell products from these vessels with such certificate.

Mr Aivaras Labanauskas manages the daily operations of Marlinas UAB.
